EU VAT Checker

Overview

An unobtrusive extension to automatically validate EU Vat numbers via the VIES system.

Facilities include:

• • Offline format validation for each EU country.

  • VIES validation using their latest SOAP interface with a fall over HTTP validator in place.

  • Validation on the checkout during registration, standard registration and during customer creation in admin.

  • Choose on a per country basis which countries to validate.

  • Hold customers in seperate group when validation fails during VIES database down time, these customers are validated the next time they log in.

Disclaimer

This extension is reliant on the availability of the VIES database. For information on scheduled downtime, please see this link. We've implemented some advanced configuration options to handle this down time at the same time being completely seamless to your customers.
